To provide a method for switching the desk top into a state of not using a personal computer on a desk and moreover not occupying the desktop with the personal computer and a state of allowing the use of the personal computer in an instant without taking time and effort because, in many cases, the personal computer occupies a fixed area on the desk even when not using the personal computer in an office, and in the case of providing a customer with both food and drink and a time rental service of a personal computer in a teahouse or the like, the desktop personal computer may get in the way when providing food and drink in the existing space.

The desk including a top plate and legs is provided with a horizontal recess of the same horizontal shape and size as a thin type monitor on the upper side of the top plate. The thin type monitor is provided on the upper side of the top plate and turnably connected through a hinge mechanism or the like so that the thin type monitor is stored in the recess when located in a horizontal direction and that the back face of the thin type monitor is at the same height as the upper face of the top plate and located in the horizontal direction. An input device for the computer such as a keyboard and a touch panel is provided at a lower part of the recess.
