Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform color conversion among device data of more than four colors that have different output conditions by selecting gray balance retention order transformation relation and gray balance retention inverse transformation relation in accordance with residual colors except three colors of device data and converting the three color device data by using the relations.
SOLUTION: For instance, after selecting or interpolating gray balance retention transformation relation in accordance with device data K, gray balance retention forward conversion relation and gray balance retention inverse transformation relation in accordance with residual colors except the three colors CMY of device data, the conversion of the three color device data CMY is performed by using the relations at the time of performing conversion processing of device data CMYK. Consequently, it is possible to easily seek color conversion relation with gray balance preserved among device data of more than four colors that have different output conditions. Then, it is possible to reproduce satisfactory gray color in a mapping destination and also to perform natural color conversion even to colors except a gray color.
